A sad ending to the search for a missing 68 year old man who disappeared from at Sun Peaks earlier this week.
Tomasz Jaholkowski went missing on Dec. 10, 2024, but has since been found and is sadly deceased.
On Dec. 12, 2024, the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment requested the public’s assistance in locating the skier, who was reported as missing the day before. He was later discovered deceased near an area of the ski resort. No criminality is suspected in his death.
The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is also investigating. The Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment offers its condolences to the man’s family and friends.

RCMP say Search and Rescue teams, along with the Ski Patrol and police officers are continuing an all-out search for a man who disappeared from Sun Peaks.
Mounties say 68 year old Tomasz Jaholkowski was last seen entering the gates to get on one of the lifts for a run on Tuesday morning, shortly before noon.
RCMP there’s been no sign of Jaholkowski since then.
“Mr. Jaholkowski does not appear to have returned to his hotel room, nor has he been heard from since checking into the run on Tuesday,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. “We are very concerned for his well-being and are asking anyone who may have seen him or has information on his potential whereabouts, to please contact police as soon as possible.”
The 68 year old Jaholkowski is described as a white man, about 5-foot-10, around 180 pounds with grey hair and brown eyes.

“We are releasing photos of Mr. Jaholkowski obtained from the ski lift where he was last observed, as well as an image of him without his ski gear, in hopes that someone will recall having seen him since that last check-in and contact police as soon as possible,” said Cpl. Evelyn.
Anyone with information about Jaholkowski’s disappearance is asked to contact the RCMP immediately.
