Third Erin Pincott delivers a stone in an eventual extra-end win over hosts Northern Ontario to improve t 3-1 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario/via Andrew Klaver, Curling Canada
The Kamloops Corryn Brown rink is off to a good start at the Scottie’s National Women’s Curling Championship in Thunder Bay, ON.
The Brown foursome stole two in the 7th end and then added single steals in 8 and 9 to send a round robin game against Northern Ontario to handshakes after nine ends.
Brown won 9-3 over Kendra McCarville and now sits 3-1 in Pool “A”.
That’s good enough for 2nd place behind Team Canada’s Rachel Homan rink at 3-0.
The Kamloops Curling Club squad is back at it at 4PM this afternoon when they play Nunavut, skipped by Julia Weagle.
They sit 0-3 after a 7-6 morning loss to PEI.
For the Brown rink, this is their 4th trip to the Scotties.
A 3-1 start represents the best beginning to the Championship they’ve had.
They are coached by Kamloops curling Product Jim Cotter and also feature Erin Pincott (3rd), Sarah Koltun (2nd), Sam Fisher (Lead) and Kristen Ryan as an alternate.
