It does represent the best effort the team has put together at the National Curling Championships.
However, the Kamloops-based talents, led by Corryn Brown, is leaving Thunder Bay without a Scotties title.
They went down to Nova Scotia’s Christina Black rink 10-5 in the first round of the playoffs — the 3/4 qualifier match — on Friday night.
The Brown rink gave up the hammer to Nova Scotia to start the do-or-die match-up on Friday, despite having the 2nd best Last Stone Distance (LSD) ranking at this year’s Scotties, behind only Team Canada.
That would cost the Kamloops team, as Black’s rink — coming off an earlier loss in the day to Rachel Holman’s Team Canada powerhouse — would score two in the first.

The Nova Scotians would then steal one in the 2nd for a 3-0 lead.
After trading singles in four and five, the Brown squad would score a pair in 5 to get within one — 4-3.
However, the skilled Nova Scotian team — coming into the tournament ranked 4th in the CTRS (Canadian Team Ranking System) — would counter with two of their own in the 6th, to put them up 6-3.
That would be the beginning of the end for the Kamloops squad — who ultimately would bow out 10-5.
Despite finishing the round robin at 6-2, the Kamloops curlers were demoted into a one-and-done scenario after finishing 3rd in Pool A, after the Skrlik rink out of Calgary was able to finish the round robin at 6-2 as well.
Skrlik’s team handed the Kamloops team one of the two losses in the round robin — the other being the defending champs, Team Canada.
The team of Corryn Brown, Third Erin Pincott, Lead Samantha Fisher and Second Sarah Koltun — who joined the Kamloops team mid-season — came into the tournament ranked 9th in the Canadian Tournament Ranking System.
They were the 7th seed in the Scotties and were able to make the playoff bracket for the first time as a group.
The finals at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts will take place on Sunday.
This year’s Men’s National Curling Championships will get underway on Thursday, February 28th.
Kamloops-based skipper Matt Dunstone and his team out of Manitoba — seeded 4th — are one of the favorites heading into the Brier, which is being hosted in Kelowna next week.
