UPDATE:
“Please note that further to the previous release, the highway has now re-opened with traffic flowing in both directions,” said the RCMP in a further update. “We thank the public for their continued patience.”
RCMP are advising motorists of a serious crash on the Yellowhead in north Kamloops.
“SE District Traffic members are on the scene of an accident south of Rayleigh on Highway 5,” said RCMP in a release shortly after 2pm on Saturday. “Traffic is down to alternating lanes with flaggers on scene.”
“The highway is not expected to fully re-open for several hours and delays can be expected,” added the RCMP.
Further details are expected from the RCMP once the scene is cleared.
