A significant step forward for a new light-industrial park in west Kamloops.
Comet Industries – run by Kamloops City Councillor Mike O’Reilly – has announced that it’s prepared to start putting its lots out for offer later this year.
This comes ahead of the initial plans, which was for Comet to start putting its lots on the market in 2026.
“We aren’t selling lots at this point,” noted O’Reilly. “We’re not going out and saying X amount of lots are sold, but the interest is strong, not just from local, but also external throughout the Lower Mainland area have companies that are looking to take advantage of the opportunity of doing business in Kamloops.”

O’Reilly admits they will be facing some competition from East Kamloops.
“We’re aware of that, but certainly our project compared to Campbell Creek or anywhere else in town is going to be different,” said O’Reilly. “We’re certainly going to be built to a much higher standard, including fully separated bike path throughout the entire Park. We’ll have underground Hydro, which you don’t see in other industrial parks in Kamloops.”
The Iron Mask Industrial Park is a former mining property off the TransCanada heading west out of Kamloops off of Sugarloaf Road.
It has a total of 7 lots on the site being made available for sale starting in the 3rd quarter of this year, with expectations another 15 lots on the site could be ready by early 2027.
The overall 190-acre Industrial Park has a total of 58 lots planned for sale by 2028 and beyond.
O’Reilly says they’re targeting mostly local companies but says they have seen some expressions of interest from Lower Mainland firms, even though their properties are not yet on the market.
