It seems as though the Blazers organization — and perhaps the community itself — has been hitting the right notes in convincing some of the top, up-and-coming hockey talent in Western Canada that Kamloops is a good place to land and develop their skills.
The Kamloops Blazers have announced their third signing in as many days from the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.
The hockey club has signed 2010-born forward Brady Ondrus to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Ondrus was selected by the Blazers in the 2nd round, 29th overall.
Ondrus is from Sherwood Park, AB.
He played the 2024-25 season with the Northern Alberta Xtreme U15 Prep team in the CSSHL, and was teammates this past season with the Blazers’ second-overall pick in this summer’s Draft, Teagan Bouchard, who inked his Development agreement with the Blazers on Tuesday.
The 5’9” and 148lb left shot forward Ondrus had 26 goals, 25 assists and 51 points in 35 games last season.
“We would like to welcome Brady and his family to the Kamloops Blazers organization,” said GM/Head Coach Shaun Clouston. “Brady is a smart and competitive forward with good skill.”
“We look forward to watching Brady’s game continue to progress and are excited to have him join our hockey club in the future,” added Clouston.
Ondrus becomes the 3rd pick from the Blazers Draft class this summer to sign on, following his teammate Bouchard and the Blazers top pick from this year’s Draft, Matteo Ferreira, who signed on Monday.
