Kamloops RCMP are appealing to the public for assistance in an ongoing investigation after a woman was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision early last week.
On the evening of May 26, around 6 p.m., frontline officers responded to reports of a collision at the intersection of Summit Drive and McGill Road. According to police, a woman in her 20s was attempting to cross Summit Drive when she was hit by a white car. She sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Her injuries have been described as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before police arrived, prompting an active investigation. Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Corporal Dana Napier stated, “The Kamloops RCMP are hoping that by releasing a photo of the vehicle involved in the incident, the public will be able to identify the registered owner of the vehicle and advance their investigation.”
Authorities are encouraging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dashcam or surveillance footage, to come forward. Police also welcome any additional information that may assist in identifying the driver or vehicle.
Residents with relevant information are urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2025-16134.
The Kamloops RCMP continue to investigate and remind the community about the importance of stopping after an accident, especially when pedestrians are involved.
