A two-year-old missing person case has come to a tragic conclusion after RCMP confirmed that human remains found earlier this year in a rural area west of Kamloops are those of Jordan Nande.
Nande, originally from Fort Nelson, traveled to Kamloops in February 2023 with people he knew in the area.
He was last seen in the city in March 2023, and was later reported missing.
At the time, little was known about his whereabouts, and extensive efforts to locate him had been unsuccessful.
On April 11, 2025, human remains were reported to police in the Pendleton Creek area on the south side of the TransCanada in the Cherry Creek area.
Forensic exams later determined the skeletal remains belonged to the 23-year old, whose death is being investigated as a possible murder.
The RCMP’s Southeast District Major Crime Unit is now in charge of the investigation.
“The Southeast District Major Crime Unit continues to investigate Nande’s death, and is requesting anyone with information about his disappearance and suspected homicide to contact the RCMP Southeast District MCU Information Line at 1-877-987-8477,” said Staff Sergeant Jason Smart, Unit Commander of the BC RCMP Southeast District MCU, in a brief statement confirming Nande’s identity.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen or spoken to Nande in Kamloops in early 2023—or who may have knowledge of the circumstances leading to his death—to come forward.
The RCMP is not releasing further details at this time, including a probable cause of death or how his remains may have ended up in the area, which includes a handful of properties and the Pendleton Creek Recreational Site not far by.
