A project considered a cornerstone in the redevelopment of the lower Tranquille corridor has been officially unveiled.
A ribbon cutting took place for Thompson Landing on Royal Avenue on the Kamloops north shore Tuesday afternoon.
The project, which includes 64 units between two buildings, is the creation of ARPA Investments.
“This is an exciting milestone for our company,” said Joshua Knaak, principal with ARPA. “Years ago, when our team shared that we wanted to add to the vibrancy and character of the North Shore, there were a lot of people who caught our vision and celebrated what could be possible.”
He notes the Royal Avenue project, which has been under construction the last couple of years, is just the “tip of the iceberg” for his company’s work on the southern end of the Tranquille corridor.
“There’s basically 500 units being constructed right along here, all with commercial space on the main floor in about a five or six block radius,” said Knaak in conversation with Radio NL. “A very rapidly growing spot to be, whether it be for opening a new business or anything like that.”
While Tuesday marked the “official” ribbon cutting, the first owners in one of the buildings took possession a couple of months ago.
Knaak says only a handful of suites are still available in the first building occupied.
