
The Kamloops RCMP Targeted Enforcement Unit has laid 45 criminal charges against five individuals following a major investigation into drug trafficking and firearms offenses in the community.
Project EPARALYSIS, an intelligence-led operation launched in September 2023, targeted drug distribution networks operating out of local motels and residences. The investigation culminated in a series of enforcement actions between September 2023 and April 2024, including the execution of search warrants at Scott’s Inn Motel and a residence on Dallas Drive.
Key Seizures:

5 kg of illicit drugs (including cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl), with potential for up to 10 kg of end-user product

8 firearms: 4 loaded handguns, 3 loaded shotguns, 1 carbine rifle

1 taser

Approximately $60,000 in suspected drug proceeds

Trafficking tools: digital scales, score sheets, cell phones, and packaging materials
Following a detailed charge approval process, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada approved and sworn in all 45 charges this week. Summonses have been issued, with the accused set to appear in Kamloops Provincial Court on August 25, 2025.

“This operation delivers a significant blow to entrenched drug trafficking networks in Kamloops,” said Superintendent Jeff Pelley.
“The 45 charges laid and the seizure of illegal firearms are critical steps in reducing community harm. Our TEU team, supported by frontline officers and analysts, executed a precise and professional operation that helps keep our streets safer.”
Sgt. Kevin McIntyre, NCO i/c of the TEU, acknowledged the unit’s swift and safe action despite competing local priorities, including ongoing violent conflicts: “We remain focused on those who pose the highest threat to public safety. Our team continues to monitor for fallout from this enforcement action.”
