Four people are in custody following a targeted overnight shooting on Kamloops’ North Shore that left one person injured.
Kamloops RCMP officers responded to reports of gunfire just after midnight Thursday in the 100-block of Chestnut Avenue. One person was found injured and taken to hospital, but has since been released.
“Evidence shows that this was a targeted shooting,” said Corporal Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. “As with all shootings, we are taking this seriously. Officers responded quickly and took four people into custody.”
A significant police presence remains in the area as investigators continue their work. RCMP are asking the public to avoid the scene, which is expected to remain active throughout the day.
