Two suspects were arrested and a stolen vehicle recovered after a public tip led Kamloops RCMP to a vehicle spotted near the Yellowhead Highway on Wednesday morning.
At around 9:30 a.m. on October 15, officers received a report of a stolen vehicle in the 5000-block of Highway 5, near the Rayleigh area. Police units, including frontline officers, the Crime Reduction Unit, and Police Dog Services, responded to the scene.
The vehicle was located parked on the Frontage Road in Rayleigh, where officers arrested both the driver and passenger without incident.
“Kamloops frontline officers along with Police Dog Services, and the Crime Reduction Unit were able to recover a stolen vehicle and arrest a man and a woman as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with dashcam or security footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward. Tips can be directed to the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000, referencing file number 2025-34417.
