A family of three remains in serious condition in hospital following an early morning house fire that broke out over the weekend on the North Shore.
Kamloops RCMP said the blaze was reported around 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, in the 1300-block of Sitka Street. Thick smoke was visible in the area as Kamloops Fire Rescue and police responded to the scene.
“All three residents were able to get out of the house,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for Kamloops RCMP. “Unfortunately, they did suffer injuries as a result of the fire and remain in hospital in serious condition.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. RCMP’s General Investigation Services team is working alongside Kamloops Fire Rescue to determine what started the blaze.
