
Kamloops RCMP have arrested one person following a tense incident involving a woman allegedly waving a large knife in the downtown core Wednesday morning.
Police were called to the 400-block of Victoria Street around 8:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a woman acting erratically while brandishing a knife. Frontline officers responded and took the woman into custody after deploying a taser.
“It is early in the investigation, officers are investigating to determine all of the circumstances surrounding this incident,” said Corporal Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or captured video footage in the area to come forward. Those with information are urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2025-35256.
