A tip from the owner of two stolen snowmobiles led Kamloops RCMP to arrest two suspects and seize a cache of weapons — including a smoke grenade, smoke bomb, and several firearms — last week.
Police say the owner spotted his stolen snowmobiles and trailer around 7 p.m. on October 30 in the 900-block of Columbia Street West and called officers to the scene.
When frontline RCMP officers arrived, two men allegedly fled on foot but were caught shortly after a brief chase.
During the investigation, officers also recovered a truck reported stolen from Enderby and uncovered a significant haul of weapons and contraband, including:
- Three handguns
- A sawed-off shotgun
- A smoke grenade and smoke bomb
- A cellphone jammer
- Hard body armour
- Suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine
- Cash and assorted ammunition
“The combination of the items seized from the recovered stolen vehicle posed a threat not only to the community but also responding officers,” said Superintendent Jeff Pelley, Officer in Charge of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment. “This seizure will have an impact and disrupt criminals here and in neighbouring jurisdictions.”
The investigation remains active. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2025-36336.
