After a breakout start to his WHL career, Kamloops Blazers F JP Hurlbert has been named the WHL Player of the Month for September/October.

Hurlbert led the league with 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points in 15 games over late September and October. The native of Allen Texas was named the WHL Player of the Week once during that time.

His WHL debut included a hat-trick against the Spokane Chiefs back in September 20th.

He was also named to the CHL roster for the CHL USA Prospects Challenge later this month with games in Lethbridge and Calgary.

He’s the first Blazer to receive the WHL Player of the Month honour since Olen Zellweger was given the honor for April, 2023.
