A woman remains in hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Kamloops late Sunday night.
Kamloops RCMP say officers were called to the intersection of Summit Drive and Columbia Street at about 10:40 p.m. on Jan. 4 after receiving a report of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle. BC Ambulance Service attended the scene and transported the injured woman to hospital.
Police say the driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver was arrested and later released, according to RCMP.
“The alleged driver was arrested and later released,” said Cpl. Dana Napier, spokesperson for Kamloops RCMP. “Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has video footage of the incident.”
Investigators are asking anyone with information, including dashcam or surveillance video from the area at the time, to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2026-365.
