Kamloops Airport reported an increase in passenger traffic during the final quarter of 2025, despite recording a slight overall decline for the year.
According to official statistics, the airport welcomed 80,338 travelers in Q4 2025, a 5% increase over the same period in 2024. The breakdown by month shows:
-
October: 25,981 passengers (-1% from 26,228 in 2024)
-
November: 25,292 passengers (+6% from 23,905 in 2024)
-
December: 29,065 passengers (+10% from 26,427 in 2024)
The surge in Q4 was largely driven by the restoration of flight frequencies to Calgary and Vancouver, along with expanded seasonal service to Victoria, airport officials said.
However, year-end figures for 2025 show 293,840 travelers, down 5% from 310,507 in 2024. The decline reflects reduced flight availability during the first three quarters of the year. Flight frequencies to Calgary and Vancouver were increased in late October, which helped passenger numbers recover in the final months.
Kamloops Airport Ltd. emphasized its ongoing commitment to supporting regional tourism and commerce through destination development and route expansion, working closely with local businesses and tourism partners.
“Route development and increasing flight frequency remain top priorities for Kamloops Airport Ltd. and the Vantage Group,” said Jim Moroz, Managing Director of Kamloops Airport Ltd.
