The Kamloops RCMP say their Crime Reduction Unit has successfully removed nearly 20 firearms from the city following a targeted investigation.
The investigation began on January 8, 2026, after a traffic stop led officers to gather evidence that ultimately resulted in a search warrant being executed on February 3 in the 200-block of Tamarack Avenue.
During the search, police seized:
- 19 firearms
- A significant quantity of ammunition
- Illegal drugs
- An undisclosed amount of Canadian currency
Sergeant Jason Pole, who oversees the Kamloops RCMP Detachment Crime Reduction Unit, said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to reduce crime and enhance public safety. “Our Crime Reduction Unit continues to interrupt and suppress crime in our community. By removing guns from the streets, we are taking proactive steps to reduce the potential for violent crime and enhance public safety,” Pole said.
One man connected to the property was arrested before the search warrant was executed. He has since been released, with charge recommendations expected as the investigation continues.
