Police in Kamloops are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing youth who was last seen in the city’s Sahali area late last month.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Kamloops detachment said 16-year-old Marissa Wilson was reported missing on March 3 after family members were unable to locate her.
Marissa was last seen on Feb. 28 at about 6 a.m. in the 1700-block of Sunnycrest Avenue in Kamloops. Police say family members made extensive efforts to find her before reporting her disappearance.
According to investigators, Marissa is known to travel by foot and bus to several areas of the city, including the North Shore and the Valleyview and Dallas neighbourhoods.
“Police are looking to confirm Marissa’s wellbeing,” said Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP detachment. “We are asking anyone with information about Marissa’s whereabouts to please contact police as soon as possible.”
Marissa is described as:
- Indigenous
- 16 years old
- 5’4” tall
- About 100 pounds
- Brown hair
- Brown eyes
