Kamloops RCMP say a 34-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly failing to comply with a release order connected to retail theft.
Police say members of the detachment’s Crime Reduction Unit arrested Robert Kohlman on March 6 following a coordinated enforcement effort with frontline officers and local retailers.
Investigators say police worked with businesses to gather evidence before locating and arresting the suspect.
“Shoplifting creates a disproportionate amount of harm in our community, impacting employees, businesses and a sense of safety,” said Superintendent Jeff Pelley, officer in charge of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
Pelley says the Crime Reduction Unit continues to focus on the most active suspects through intelligence-led enforcement and partnerships with the local retail community.
Kohlman was taken into custody but has since been released. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
The investigation remains ongoing.
