A man has been shot and killed in Kamloops, in what police are describing as a targeted attack.
Police say the shooting happened at around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 in the 600 block of Seymour Street, outside the 7/11 in downtown Kamloops, where one man was found with a gunshot wound and taken to hospital. He later died of his injuries, and investigators say early indications show the attack may have been targeted.
In consultation with the family, police are identifying the victim as Manny Brooks to assist with the investigation. No suspects have been arrested.
Officers remain in the area to gather evidence and speak to potential witnesses, although the scene has been released and is no longer closed to the public.

More details expected sometime later today to a yet-unspecified incident outside the 7/11 in downtown Kamloops this morning.
Yellow police tape surrounds the entire parking lot of the location at 6th and Seymour.
RCMP saying only at this time that the Serious Crimes Unit is in charge of whatever did transpired at the location.
Officers on the scene were focused in on an area to the east end of the building, where a large collection of material was seen strewn about on the ground.
It’s not clear what time the Mounties were called to the location, which is less than a block from the Kamloops RCMP detachment.
The 7/11 along Seymour is frequented by those on the streets and people thought to be associated with the local drug trade.
