
A homicide investigation is underway following an early morning shooting in Kamloops, according to Kamloops RCMP.
Officers were called to the 200-block of Columbia Street in Kamloops during the early hours of Tuesday after reports of gunfire. Police have since confirmed that the incident is being treated as a homicide.
Investigators say preliminary evidence suggests the shooting was targeted, though no further details about the victim or potential suspects have been released. Authorities noted they are continuing to gather information and are in contact with the victim’s family.
Police are appealing to the public for assistance as the investigation continues. Anyone who was in the area between 1:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., particularly those with dash-camera footage, is urged to come forward.
