A Kamloops resident’s excitement over a winning lottery ticket quickly spread throughout her household after she discovered she had won a $100,000 top prize.

Jessica D. won the six-figure prize playing a $5 777 Scratch & Win ticket, taking home the game’s top prize of $100,000.

The Kamloops woman said she learned of her win after scanning the ticket using the BCLC Lotto! app.

“I was yelling throughout the house and the kids thought something was wrong, until I told them what happened,” Jessica recalled. “Then we were all yelling!”

Still processing the unexpected windfall, Jessica said the experience has been difficult to believe.

“Disbelief is where I’m at. It almost feels like it’s not real,” she said.

Jessica already has plans for her winnings, including hosting a pool party for friends. She also intends to treat her children before putting the remainder of the money into savings.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Dallas Park Store on Dallas Drive in Kamloops.
