After some unofficial talk of the Kamloops Northpaws being for sale over the last year, the West Coast Baseball League franchise has made it official.

The ownership group of Norm Daley & Neal Perry have put the team up to the highest bidder following five years of ownership.

The NorthPaws with the help of Cosmo Sports & Entertainment, issued a news release on Tuesday confirming the sale of the club.

“Established in 2020, the NorthPaws have become part of Kamloops’ summer sports landscape, providing affordable family entertainment and showcasing talented collegiate baseball players from across North America. The team competes in the West Coast League and plays its home games at one of the league’s best ballparks Norbrock Stadium in McArthur Island Park. The transition represents an opportunity for a new group to build upon the foundation established by the current owners and guide the NorthPaws through their next stage of growth,” stated the ownership group in its release confirming the club is up for sale.

“The team will remain in Kamloops, with the search focused on identifying an owner who shares the organization’s commitment to the community, its supporters and the long-term future of baseball in the region,”  added the owners.

“It’s been five years, we aren’t getting any younger,” smiled Daley in revealing their plans.  “We think it’s the right time to explore new owners and see if they can take the ball club to the next level.”

Daley, who is also the President of the Kamloops Blazers, turned 65 late in the summer and admits it’s been a few busy years for himself personally.

“You go from hockey season to baseball season, hockey season to baseball season, it’s time to be slow down a bit and see if there’s interest in the community,” Daley conceded.

Daley revealed that he’s already received interest in the purchase of the NorthPaws from a local group this past week.

A purchase price is not listed in the release.

The NorthPaws have missed the WCBL playoffs the past four summers after an inaugural season in 2022 that saw them have several thrilling finishes at Norbroc Stadium and a playoff appearance against Wenatchee.
