Kamloops RCMP are asking for help in identifying a suspect after a man was “deliberately and directly” stabbed this past weekend.
Police say they were called to the 300-block of Tranquille Road around 5:18 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, to reports that a man had been stabbed.
Spokesperson Corporal Crystal Evelyn says the victim was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“As part of the ongoing investigation, police have obtained security video from the 400-block of Tranquille Road where the assault occurred, which includes an image of the suspect,” Evelyn said.

“The assault was very deliberate and direct, and numerous people were present to witness while it occurred. We are requesting they contact police as soon as possible to discuss what transpired.”
The suspect is described as a man with a larger build standing about six-feet tall. He was wearing a dark jacket with a blue or purple logo on the back, a ball cap under the hood of the jacket, a white or beige face mask, and white Nike shoes with a black stripe up the back.
This suspect was also carrying a draw-string bag on his back and a blue and black duffle bag at the time of the incident.
Evelyn is asking business owners and residents in and area the area to check their security cameras to see if they captured additional images of the suspect.
If you have videos, photos, or information about this investigation, she says to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-12807.
