It is National Tourism Week across Canada this week and that could mean free ice cream for you today, April 26.
“We’ve partnered with Ice Cream Social and with Scoopz to offer a small ice cream cone to our residents in the afternoon, and so if you haven’t yet signed up for the Luv’n the Loops pass, this is how you access you cone,” Tourism Kamloops CEO Monica Dickinson said on the NL Morning News.
Dickinson says its their way of saying thank you to Kamloopsians for supporting the tourism industry.
“We want our residents to be part of our ambassador team and wrap their arms around our great tourism experiences and businesses and looking forward to seeing the community out on Wednesday afternoon,” she added.
The Luv’n the Loops pass, which is good for a plethora of other local deals, can be found online here.
“It is an interactive online pass that gives you access to incentives at various locations, tourism business locations across the city,” Dickinson said. “It really helps us to connect to our business and get to know you community a little bit better.”
The Luv’n the Loops program began as a monthly mystery bus tour in 2019 that took people to a number of locations around the Kamloops-area. It was designed to empower them to become tourism ambassadors so they could share three activities to do in the city, if they were asked by a visiting family member of a tourism on the street.
The program morphed into the passport program at the onset of COVID-19.
