Kamloops RCMP say a large police presence near McGowan Park Elementary in Sahali was due to a report of threats made, though they say nothing suspicious was found.
Corporal Crystal Evelyn says Mounties were called to the 2000-block of Tremerton Drive around 3 p.m. this afternoon, May 8, after students had been dismissed for the day.
“Out of an abundance of caution, officers searched the school as part of the investigation and nothing that appeared suspicious was located,” Evelyn said.
“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment thanks students and parents in the area for their patience during the presence.”
At this time, it is unclear what the nature of the report made to police was.
Evelyn says people with information that may be related to this investigation should reach out to the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-15932.
