The Columbia-Shuswap Regional District has issued an evacuation order for a handful of properties in the Celista area.
It covers properties between 4001 Meadow Creek Rd. and 4596 Meadow Creek Road, and it is due to the 100-square kilometre Lower East Adams Lake fire.
There was a large-scale planned ignition Thursday afternoon to try and stop the fire from spreading to Scotch Creek and Lee Creek, both of which are on evacuation alert.
An evacuation alert was also issued for a few properties east of the area under order. Those include 4705, 4831, 4836 Meadow Creek Road, and 4989 and 4993 Line 17 Road.
People in other communities like St. Ives, Seymour Arm, and Anglemont are also being told to ensure they have enough resources to shelter in place for 72 hours in case of limited road access.
