Kamloops RCMP are looking for information after a Friday afternoon hit-and-run sent one man to hospital with serious injuries.
Mounties say they were called to the intersection of 6th Avenue and Lansdowne Street around 2:35 p.m., Aug. 25, to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a dark coloured Chevrolet Cruz that quickly sped away.
“The Cruz was located shortly after with a smashed windshield, abandoned in Riverside Park, shortly after,” RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, said. “Police checks revealed it had been reported stolen on Aug. 23, from the 100-block of Yew Street.”
Evelyn also said the person taken to hospital is expected to survive.
Mounties are looking to speak to people who may have information about the crash, the theft of the vehicle, or the people who abandoned it at Riverside Park.
Those with information are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2023-30738.
