
RCMP say a 27-year-old Quebec man has been charged with aggravated assault after an incident in a Kamloops hotel in late December.
Mounties say they were called to a hotel in the 1200-block of Rogers Way in Aberdeen early last Friday morning, Dec. 29, to reports that a woman in distress and required police assistance.
“When officers arrived, they located a 20-year-old, Quebec woman with significant, but non-life-threatening injuries,” Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet said in a news release.
“She was transported to a local area hospital and has since been released.”
Police say Jesse Bordage was arrested at the scene and appeared in court earlier this morning, Jan. 3.
Shoihet says he has been charged with one count each of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and attempting to choke to overcome resistance. The Bellevue, Quebec native has also been charged with three counts of breach of a release order.
Bordage remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.
