Kamloops RCMP say a woman is facing a number of charges after she turned herself into police on Saturday, one day after a reported robbery at a Valleyview motel.
Police say the unidentified woman was arrested for offences that included assault causing bodily harm, pointing a firearm, and robbery.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the robbery allegedly took place at a motel room on the 1800-block of Trans Canada Highway East on Friday, Jan. 19. She says a person got into the motel room with a firearm and robbed the occupants of cash and made threats.
“The arrest was also related to a report from Jan. 3, 2024, in which the same person had been suspected in an incident from Jan. 2,” Evelyn said.
“Police later released the suspect with a court date and conditions. Charge recommendations are anticipated following the ongoing investigations.”
People who witnessed the robbery or those with information related to this incident are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-1935.
