The Kamloops Blazers dropped a 3-2 to the Seattle Thunderbirds in a shootout Sunday, to wrap up a three-in-three weekend in the WHL.
The shootout loss gives the rebuilding Blazers one point out of a possible six, following blowout losses to Prince George on Friday and Vancouver on Saturday.
Simon Loosen got Seattle on the board first early in the second period. His goal was cancelled out by Blake Swetlikoff on the power play, though the T-Birds retook the lead in the final minutes through Nico Myatovic.

Kamloops native Jordan Keller tied things up once again with a power play goal six minutes into the third period, but the Blazers’ weren’t able to complete the comeback at the accesso ShoWare Center.

Dylan Ernst made 36 saves on 38 shots – seven of which were in overtime – in a losing effort. Scott Ratzlaff stopped 19 of 21 Kamloops shots to pick up the win.
The Blazers drop to 18-33-3-3 on the season, while Seattle improved to 20-34-2-0. Both teams remain at the bottom of the WHL standings with 42 points, though Seattle has played 56 games to Kamloops’ 57.
The Blazers will be back in action on Wednesday night when the host the Spokane Chiefs on Pride Night at the Sandman Centre.
