Kamloops RCMP say they’re investigating the weekend discovery of what they believe to be human skeletal remains in the Mission Flats area.
Police say they were called to an area near the Mission Flats landfill around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25.
Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says a police presence remains in the area as RCMP and the BC Coroners Service investigate the weekend discovery.
“At this time, the investigation into the found skeletal remains is in its very early stages,” Evelyn said.
“Who the remains belong to and the circumstances surrounding their discovery are part of the ongoing investigation occurring in consultation with the BC Coroners Service.”
Evelyn is asking people with information that may be related to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-5687.
