Kamloops RCMP say three people were arrested and later released after a large police presence on the North Shore yesterday morning, May 28.
Mounties say they were told about three people in a pickup truck with what appeared to be a firearm and body armour around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
“Multiple police officers responded and located the truck on Yew Street, where they conducted a high-risk arrest of its occupants, due to the possible involvement of a firearm,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said, noting a school in the area – Our Lady of Perpetual Help School – was put on a brief hold and secure.
Evelyn says while no weapons or body armour was found, police seize more than 22 grams of suspected meth and fentanyl as part of the investigation.
She says two suspects were arrested in the vehicle, with the third found soon after.
People with information that might be related to this incident are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-16074.
