RCMP say they seized a pair of stolen Ford vehicles from an address in North Kamloops after reports of a “suspicious occurrence” on Monday mooring.
Police say they were called to the house in the 100-block of Cedar Street around 7:30 a.m. on June 10, for a report of a suspicious person going through a newer Ford pickup truck. They say that truck, as well as a Ford SUV that was in the alley behind the house, were both reported as stolen.
“With assistance from the Police Dog Service, frontline officers located and seized two firearms and recovered two stolen vehicles as part of the investigation,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said.
“While officers were on scene, several criminals known by police to be connected to the drug trade and violent crimes were identified and arrested or detained.”
While Evelyn did not say how many people were arrested or detained, she said they were released without charges as part of the ongoing investigation.
“We encourage anyone with information related to suspicious occurrences or suspected criminal activity to continue to reach out to police,” Evelyn added.
Those with information or video can call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-17805.
