The Kamloops Blazers have signed a fifth player who was part of their 2024 WHL draft class to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Langley native Jacob Dumansky had 21 goals and 49 points with the Yale Hockey Academy last season. He also added four assists in three playoff games.
“Jacob is a competitive, smart, and big centre with good skill,” Blazers Director of Player Personnel Aaron Keller said after the draft. “He comes from a strong Yale Hockey Academy program.”
The six-foot-one Dumansky – who was picked by the Blazers in the second round, 44th overall – joins forwards Asher Gingras and Cole Secord along with defensemen Joaquin Geras and Madden Tymchak as 2009-born players to sign with the Blazers.
Dumansky – and fellow Blazer prospects Hudson Podollan and Tristan Anderlini – will be among 80 players who will be a part of the 2024 BC U16 Provincial Camp in Chilliwack between July 29 and August 1.
The Blazers have now signed their first five picks from May’s WHL Prospect Draft. Dumansky a bigger forward coming off a good season at Yale Hockey Academy. https://t.co/AQVt88j0bW
