RCMP say the owner of a boat suffered serious injuries when he tried to prevent two men from stealing his boat over the weekend.
Mounties say they were called to the area near the Adams Lake boat launch on Saturday, July 6, after two men who were associated with an older model grey and blue flat-deck truck with wood panels, attempted to steal a boat.
BC RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy says the boat owner was dragged for several metres after he tried to intervene, but he was able to prevent the theft.
“The suspects weren’t able to leave with the boat, and RCMP hope witnesses will come forward,” Grandy said, in a statement. “Given the suspect’s vehicle was unique and had been parked at the Adams Lake boat launch on a busy day, we’re hoping someone may have seen it.”
The truck is described as an older model vehicle, possibly a Ford. It was grey and blue in colour with a flat deck and wooden panels on both sides.
People with information are being told to contact Cpl. Kyle Camalush at the Barriere RCMP at (250) 672-9918.
