Alleged suspect in assault on Kamloops Mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson/via Kamloops RCMP
Kamloops RCMP have released a blurry photo of the person suspected of pouring a beer on the Mayor of Kamloops at a local night club in June.
“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment received a report of an assault that occurred on Friday June 21, 2024, at a commercial establishment on the 300-block of Victoria Street,” said the RCMP in a release. “As part of the investigation, police have since obtained security video, which shows a male suspect in a black hat, orange shirt, and black vest.”
The incident involved a man allegedly approaching Mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson while he was at the Blue Grotto on the evening of June 21st.
Following a brief conversation, the man allegedly poured a beer on the Mayor before bolting.
Club owner Pup Johnson has told Radio NL that while he didn’t witness the incident, he was able to turn over video to the Mayor and the RCMP.
“The images are blurry, but we are hoping someone may be able to help us identify him, or witnessed the assault, which involved a suspect pouring liquid onto another individual, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.
