Kamloops council approving the Affordable Housing Strategy is already guiding the City’s housing-related investments and activities
Acting Social & Community Development Supervisor Natalie Serl says one of the main focuses of the strategy is to get projects going quickly.
“Providing that timely review of projects, to try and expedite applications that come through, and its also about research and monitoring. So it’s 3 really broad strategic priorities, and then those are then broken down into 17 more actions that we’ve assigned a team lead, and department lead, stakeholders that would be most interested in those components, and the timelines associated with them as well.”
Serl says right now, they’re working with B.C. Housing on finding the appropriate people to move in to the new modular housing units planned for Kamloops.
