A 19 year old Kamloops man is dead after a workplace accident in the Dallas area of Kamloops Friday.
In a written statement provided to NL News, WorkSafeBC spokesman Craig Fitzsimmons says the death was reported to them by the Kamloops RCMP at 10:55am Friday.
WorkSafeBC prevention officers visited the site in the 10200 block of Dallas Drive later in the afternoon.
Fitzsimmons says the name of the company the man was working for is not being released at this time.
Due to a section of the Privacy Act, it is WorkSafeBC policy to withhold an employers name if the company has a small number of employees and disclosing the employer could reveal the identity of the worker.
Kamloops RCMP say the man was repairing a Caterpillar wheel loader when he was killed.
The BC Coroner’s Service is also investigating.
