The Kamloops RCMP is urging residents to check their Halloween candy after a report of tampering involving a sewing needle found inside a small chocolate bar.
Police say the candy was collected on Halloween night, Friday, October 31, 2025, in the area of Chestnut Avenue, Oak Street, or Walnut Avenue.
“We are urging those that have candy collected from Halloween night to check and re-check the candy,” said Corporal Dana Napier, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. “Given how the sewing needle is in the chocolate, the packaging may appear to be sealed.”
No injuries have been reported, but authorities are asking parents and guardians to closely inspect all treats before consumption.
Anyone who may have information about the incident or who has discovered additional tampered candy is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000, citing file number 2025-36748.
