The holiday spirit was in full swing this morning as K97.5 hosted the 33rd Annual Toys for Kids Breakfast at the Sandman Signature, drawing a steady stream of community members, local organizations, and partners eager to give back.
From 6–10 a.m., guests enjoyed a complimentary breakfast prepared by Moxies with coffee courtesy of McDonald’s, offered in exchange for a minimum $10 donation to the RIH Foundation or a new, unwrapped toy for Christmas Amalgamated. And Kamloops showed up in a big way.
A mountain of toys quickly grew in the lobby, all destined to brighten Christmas for families in need. Even more heartwarming was the updated fundraising total for the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation: $17,717.03, a dramatic increase from $6,535 in 2024.
“This is what community is all about,” organizers said, celebrating the generosity that poured in throughout the morning.
The event had no shortage of festive energy, with appearances by the Kamloops Blazers, Chris the Clown, the TRU WolfPack, and members of the Norkam Key Club, who helped collect gifts and greet donors. Those unable to attend in person were invited to drop off toys ahead of time at Rivershore Ram Chrysler Dodge Jeep Fiat.
A special shout-out was given to the team behind the scenes: Emily for leading event organization, Brad and Alysha for smooth on-site execution, Trevor for log setup and promotions, and David for ensuring all technical elements ran without a hitch.
Presented by Lapper Security—“working for our community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year”—and proudly supported by Radio NL, this year’s Toys for Kids Breakfast once again proved why it remains one of Kamloops’ most cherished holiday traditions.
Congratulations to everyone involved on a truly impactful event—and thank you, Kamloops, for showing your heart.
