Police and firefighters responded to a structure fire on Kamloops’ North Shore Sunday evening after a shed fire spread to a nearby residence.
According to Kamloops RCMP, officers were called to the 2600-block of Argyle Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 21 to assist Kamloops Fire Rescue. The fire began in a shed and extended to the home, prompting an emergency response from both services.
All occupants were able to safely evacuate the residence, and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The RCMP’s General Investigation Support Team is assisting alongside a Kamloops Fire Investigator.
“Early assessment of the fire indicates that this does not appear to be suspicious, however, the investigation is ongoing,” said Cpl. Dana Napier, spokesperson for the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the fire or has information related to the incident to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2025-42044.
Fire officials have not yet released details about the extent of the damage to the shed or the residence.
