A significant police presence was visible across Kamloops and surrounding areas Monday as officers responded to a developing police operation that unfolded over several hours.
Kamloops RCMP frontline officers, supported by the South East District Emergency Response Team, were seen in the 700-block of Seymour Street yesterday afternoon. The response followed a report of a possible abduction and involved multiple specialized units, including RCMP Air Services, the Serious Crime Unit, General Investigation Support Team, Targeted Enforcement Unit, and the Crime Reduction Unit.
Police received the report around noon on December 22, 2025, after a witness observed a woman being forced into a vehicle in the Dallas area. The vehicle was seen traveling east and was later located at a gas station in the 1200-block of Dallas Drive. Through coordinated efforts, officers arrested the driver without incident and confirmed the woman was safe.
“This was a swift response to a serious report of a person being abducted,” said Superintendent Jeff Pelley, Officer in Charge of the Kamloops RCMP Detachment. “The safe outcome was the result of strong coordination among multiple support units during a rapidly evolving situation.”
One man has been arrested and remains in custody, with charge recommendations anticipated. As the investigation is ongoing, no further details will be released at this time.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information related to it is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2025-42110.
