Families across Kamloops can celebrate Family Day with a full slate of entertainment and activities when the City transforms the Tournament Capital Centre into a festival hub on Monday, Feb. 16.
The 12th annual Family Day Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 910 McGill Rd., offering a free, indoor event designed for children of all ages. The Fieldhouse will be filled with live performances, community booths, hands-on activities and family-friendly fun throughout the day.
Entertainment begins at 9:50 a.m. in the lobby with Bells of Note, followed by multiple performances from Uncle Chris the Clown starting at 10 a.m. Cultural and musical performances include the Sim’ya Ukrainian Society Dancers at 10:30 a.m., the Kamloops Old Time Fiddlers at 11:15 a.m., and Lorena’s School of Highland Dancing at 12:15 p.m. Uncle Chris returns to the stage several times throughout the day, wrapping up the entertainment schedule with a final show at 1:30 p.m.
Beyond the stage, dozens of community groups and organizations will host expo booths, including the BIG Little Science Centre, Canucks Autism Network, Kamloops Makerspace, PacificSport Interior BC and Tourism Kamloops, among many others. Families can explore interactive displays, sports demonstrations and creative activities, along with face painting and an inflatables fun zone. Food vendors Taste Kitchen and Fryers Express will also be on site.

Children can take part in a scavenger hunt during the festival, collecting stickers as they locate hidden items. Completed entries will be entered into a draw for one of three one-month family passes to the Tournament Capital Centre.
In addition to the free festival, residents can take advantage of special $2 recreation programs. Public skating will be offered at the Valleyview Arena from noon to 1 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., with registration required. Public swimming runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. The Tournament Capital Centre’s wellness centre and weight room will also be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Additional parking for the event will be available in lots T1, W and XT. Full festival details, including booth listings and skate registration information, can be found at Kamloops.ca/FamilyDay.
