A new social media post suggests a possible development in the case of a missing Kamloops man who was last seen jumping from the Overlanders Bridge in late July.
On a Facebook page titled “SEARCH FOR BRADEN WALLACE PETERS,” the mother of the missing man, Nancy Peters, wrote a brief update earlier today stating: “My son has been found. Waiting on call from coroner.”
The message has not yet been independently confirmed by officials.
The post relates to the disappearance of Braden Wallace-Peters, 23, who went missing on July 30 after entering the Overlanders Bridge and failing to surface in the Thompson River. At the time, emergency responders from Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other agencies responded to reports of the incident, and he was presumed drowned, though his body had not been recovered.
In the days following his disappearance, family members and volunteers had been actively searching riverbanks and surrounding areas. Peters had previously told media that the family was requesting additional resources, including boats, drones, divers, and shoreline searchers to assist in the effort.
At the time of that earlier appeal, Peters described her son as a caring young man and said the family believed he had been in the water after a group gathering near Overlander Beach.
As of this update, authorities have not publicly confirmed the Facebook post or provided additional details. The circumstances surrounding the recovery, if confirmed, remain under review pending official information from the coroner.
