
Kamloops RCMP are investigating a stabbing that left one person injured in downtown Kamloops early Sunday morning.
Police say the incident occurred outside the Kami Inn pub in the 300-block of Victoria Street during the early morning hours of June 14. One person sustained injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.
Investigators remain on scene gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses as the investigation continues.
Despite the violent nature of the incident, RCMP say they believe the stabbing was an isolated event and that there is no ongoing risk to public safety.
Staff Sergeant Andy Lot is appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to come forward with information.
“We’re asking anyone who may have seen something, no matter how minor it may seem, or who has dash camera footage from the area, to contact Kamloops RCMP,” said Lot. “Information from the public could be key to advancing this investigation.”
Police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who witnessed the incident, observed suspicious activity, or has dash camera footage from the 300-block of Victoria Street and surrounding area during the early morning hours.

No further details about the victim or potential suspects have been released at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.
