Hockey fans, unite!
A public event featuring Logan Stankoven and the Stanley Cup has officially been confirmed for Sunday, August 16th at the Riverside Park Rotary Bandshell.
The free public event is slated to run between 3:30pm-6pm.
In a City of Kamloops release, Stankoven says he’s excited to celebrate with his family, friends, and local fans in the place where his hockey journey began.
“Our family is so excited to share the Stanley Cup with the Kamloops community and celebrate this incredible moment with everyone who has supported Logan along the way,” said Wes Stankoven, Logan’s father.

The City is coordinating this free event in partnership with the Kamloops Blazers, Tourism Kamloops, Downtown Kamloops, the Kamloops and District Chamber of Commerce and the Kamloops Sports Council.
The program will feature speakers, a highlight video, a live interview with Stankoven by Radio NL sports broadcaster Jon Keen and a huge group photo with the Stanley Cup.
“We always fell back on what did Logan and the family want to do with the Cup,” said City of Kamloops Cultural Services & Events Manager Dusan Magdolen.
“For him to want to share (the Stanley Cup) with Kamloops and the fans is great,” he noted. “It’s my understanding that not all the winners host a public event in their hometown.”
“It’s great for the City of Kamloops,” added Magdolen.
100 lucky attendees will also get an opportunity to win a photo with Stankoven and the Cup.
Tickets will be handed out at the event, and the lucky ticket holders will be chosen for an immediate photo opportunity.
Up to six people can be in one photo.
Stankoven also plans to take the Cup to other places in Kamloops with an invited guests event set for the Shark Club that evening.
