Kamloops Council will be getting a number of options to fix the Canada Games Pool’s leaky roof and building envelop, and it could turn out to be more expensive than the current budget estimate of 3.1 million dollars.
“Its significantly higher, there is different options in there that will push it higher yes.”
Capital Projects Manager Darren Crundwell says, the project may include bigger plans than just the roof and the walls.
“What we are looking at the HVAC. The mechanical, the electrical. Its all original and the pool was built in 1993. One of the recommendations is to look at replacing all of that as part of the base project budget. You know, that’s not adding or making it prettier. Its just maintaining the asset that we have.”
The city is also looking at solar power options.
